Biography of M Nurul Ikhsan Saleh

M Nurul Ikhsan Saleh
My name is M Nurul Ikhsan Saleh and my friends are often called me, Nurul. I was born in Sumenep, East Java, Indonesia, on July, 27, 1988, the third of four siblings. My father Moh Shaleh was a hard working merchant, while my mother Madun was a hard working farmer. Immediately after graduating from Primary School SDN Moncek Tengah II, Lenteng, Sumenep, I studied at Islamic Boarding School, PPA Annuqayah Lubang Selatan to complete my studies at Junior High School MTs II Annuqayah and Senior High School SMA I Annuqayah in Guluk-Guluk, Sumenep. In Yogyakarta, I completed my undergraduate degree in April 2012, majoring in Islamic Education at Islamic State University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. 

I was an activist in some organizations such as Person in Charge (PIC) of Peace Generation Organization, Yogyakarta (2011-2012), Volunteer for Hoshizora Foundation, Yogyakarta, (February 2015), Participant at Leadership Development Program held by Mountain and Jungle Explorer Association (WANADRI), Indonesia (December 2013), Participant at Leadership Development Program held by The Special Forces Command (KOPASSUS), Indonesia (October 2012), Member of Indonesia Youth Forum (FIM), Jakarta (2012), Program Coordinator of Student Executive Board Association in Education (FBEMP), Yogyakarta (2011-2012) and editor of Paradigma Press, Islamic State University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (2008-2010).

Volunteering in Indonesia, I was as a Pengajar Muda (Young Teacher, batch VII) of Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar (Indonesia Teachers Movement); assigned as an elementary school teacher in SDS Terang Agung, West Tulang Bawang, Lampung, a remote village in this regency for one year (December 2013 - January 2015). And as the Pengajar Muda (Young Teacher, batch V) of Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar (Indonesia Teachers Movement); assigned as an elementary school teacher in SDN 30 Inpres Ulidang, Majene, West Sulawesi, a remote village in this regency for more than one year (November 2012 - December 2013).
